The Bombyx Mori is a type of silk worm. It is blind, cannot fly, cannot survive in the wild, yet it makes the most beautiful silk in China. These creatures are much like the children we will be working with this summer. Children who are not “whole”, but if given the chance can make the most beautiful things.

We are a team of eight women and one young man. We have a heart to serve and were given the chance to work with disabled orphans and their teachers on the other side of the world. God has handpicked us, much like He has these children.

This blog is to follow our journey, from our first meeting to our return back home. I hope and pray that our story doesn’t end with our return back home, that these amazing women and young man will be inspired to continue working with these children or serving somewhere else. And that these children and teachers continue growing in His love and His plan for them!

Join us as we travel around the world to serve the bombyx mori of children - God's children that no matter the obstacles are working to produce the most beautiful of works!

JEREMIAH 29:11

This popped into my head tonight as I was thinking about our trip. I'll elaborate later but wanted to share this!

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
